Money and my attitude

Hey folks! Talking about my attitude to money, the best sentence that describes me is the first one – All I want is enough money to enjoy life.
The reason is that I have a big dream, wich is visit some other country, meet people whose I never seen before and do things that I never did before. I think that it would be an amazing feeling, the fact of going so far and imagine how our planet is a small world after all.

Therefore, as everything has a price, the money would be the price for these wishes. But it doesn’t stop us to have fun with the simple things that life brings to us. :D

See you guys!

"It's not about the money, money, money"

My attitude to money

First all an important thing: I study Pedagogy, so, probably I’ll be teacher and it (should) mean much about my attitude to money… lololol

I think I’m an ambitious person, but money isn’t the more important thing in my life. I realize to have a good house, can give good education to my children and, the more important: have money to travel each year! I don’t think that I need so much money to have all those things… so “all I want is enough money to enjoy life”!

“My life without money”

1- Heidemarie was psychotherapist.

2- Heidemarie sold all her biggest possessions like apartment, saved money and credit cards and now have just few clothes and some personal belongings.

3- She started making one year of experience. In her home city (Dortmund) she set up a ‘swapping circle’ where the services are swap for others: people couldn’t use money. In the end of this experience she continued living without money.

4- She lived in Dortmund, her home city.

5- She continued working, but didn’t for money. Since she started the experience, she swap her works to something that need or want to live.

6- When she needed something, she looked for something to make and swapped for it.

7- With her experience she is intending to show people that “all jobs are equally important.” For her, “You may not earn a lot of money but you may be worth a lot as a person”.

8. Heidemarie donated all the money she earned whit her book “My life without money”.

My attitude to money

Hello guys! How are you doing? I hope you're fine! I'm fine. Thanks for asking. :D

Well. The best sentence which describes better my attitude to money is "All I want is enough money to enjoy the life".

The reason is simple. I don't want to be a millionaire or something like this, I just want enjoy the life with my friends and family. Maybe travel to some countries, have a nice house with a tennis court and a pool. :P

So that's it. All I want is enjoy.

See you! :D

Describing a Person (sorry, I'm late!)

Hello Stephinie, how are you?

I’m fine. Sorry if I’m answering latter your e-mail, I’m having a tough week.

Of course I can say something about Mariana to you. How you know, we were roommates for one year and, after all it was a funny experience!

Mari has 23 years old, and lives with her mother in João Pessoa, PB. He just graduated in Medicine (so, maybe a first positive point: you never need to go a doctor – you will have her at home! Lololol).

Mari and I are so different, frequently we’ve had different points of view, but we never had a serious discussion. She is an incredibly person, always helps the other. When I was sick, for example, she woke up to give me medicines for all long night … Do you believe it? Another good thing: Mary loves parties, so you will have company to go out every weekend!

I know that Mari likes to watch movies, but, sorry, I don’t remember another thinks that she likes to do.

About the negatives points (like me), she is a bit untidy and, sometimes, we had problems about the dishes… definitely she didn’t like to wash it!!!

I hope that is useful. Let me see if you need any more information about her!

Xoxo!

money.. to have or not to have?

The first sentence describe better my attitude to Money.

“All I want is enough money to enjoy life.”

I believe money is important to live in this world, but not too important than others values. I want enough to enjoy. I want get a comfortable house, not too much big or small, to learn new languages, to travel a lot, to study what I want, to do everything I wish along my life. I need enough money to stay closer my love and build a life and a family with.

I do not need expensive clothes or expensive products. I would like enough money to achieve my dreams and help who I love.

My Attitude To Money

All I want is enough money to enjoy my life, because I have no obligation besides studying and all the money my parents give me I spend on clothes, nail polish, things for my hair, etc..
In the future, I think this will change, because I think I will have other obligations andresponsibilities so that the best solution would be to the phrase number 2.

Homework - My attitude to money

All I want is enough money to enjoy life. I do not want to fool with too much money, It comes with false friendships, great interest and very danger. Enjoy life intensely and money to let a result of my effort, I really want to help other people too. As I told a friend:

"Invent your own game. Do whatever it takes to be happy. But do not forget that happiness is a simple feeling, you can find it and let it go for not appreciating its simplicity. It conveys feelings and not PEACE strong, that plague us and causerestlessness in our hearts. This can all be joy, passion, enthusiasm, but not happiness. "(Mario Quintana).

Dear Stephanie,

Thank you for Contacting me.

I am writing to describe the behavior of my friend Douglas before to friends and people around. He is 23 and is finishing engineering, lives with his parents and works with mechanical design.

I think he is independent and very sociable. He is an example to us friends and he is hard-working and he likes to enjoy life a lot. He is very responsible with their tasks in college and at work.

He likes to play sports on weekends and is very easy to adapt, likes to hang out with friends, seeing movies and playing guitarrra.

The only negative thing I can think of are That he is a bit bossy, but it will not matter because we are all a little bossy. "If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to let me know.

Best regards.

Homework - My attitude to money

Iaê, cambada!!!

I guess the sentence that best describes me is the first one. Living with a lot of money would make me get to a point where nothing else could please me, and living with less money would make me believe that expensive things are impossible to buy. In both situations I would feel like I already died.

If I earn some money, not much and not a little, just enough to live, I would need to make an effort to get more expensive things, but it would be possible to do yet(didn't knew where to put the "yet"). I'm sure, and you must agree, that I would miss two things: the challenge of not knowing if I would get what I want, and the satisfaction of seeing my effort's return (just like the games: all the fun is in this two things).

Comparing with the other two sentences:
•what if it's no possible to earn enough money? And what if it's possible to earn too much? As I said before, both would make me feel like a zombie, he he;
•I guess I wouldn't give away all the things I already own;

Bye que Bye bye byyyye(Angélica nãããããooooo)!!!!!

Describing a person

Hi Stephanie,
There’s a long time we don’t talk to each other! How are you doing?

Of course I can tell you about Guilherme. He’s 20, and he's graduating in computer programming.

I met him on the High School and he became to be like a brother of mine. He is a very simple person and pretty sociable. He only lives with his parents. He’s extremely hardworking and he often had the better results of the exams in our classroom.

He likes going out with his friends, watching movies and playing guitar – this can be a negative thing about him, but I think he can adapt himself! He also can be moody sometimes, but he’s not an aggressive person.

I’m sure you will get along well with him. He is a very smart and cool guy.
Tell me if you need anything else.

Kisses,
Gabriel.

Homework

Hello Stephanie, how are you?

Surely I can tell a lot about Fulano. He's 22 and is the older of 6 brothers and sisters, all of them much younger than he. He worked for a long time as a laborer in a paper recycler, separating the colored paper. I think this made him a detail oriented person.

He often have to look after his brothers and sisters, and I always see him playing with them, so you can expect him to be a responsible and playful person, who can take care of himself and of other people.

We used to play Volleyball on the street at Saturdays, and he used to play Tennis too. And, just like me, he likes movies and books of sci-fi.

However, he's quite moody and gets angry easily, but you just need to get him to do something he likes and the problem is solved.

Well, I'm at your disposal to answer further questions.

Best wishes,

Helder.

Suggestions

"Welcome back, mr. Anderson!"(Agent Smith - Matrix)

Altough the links I've sent were useful, I think they're a little bit of boring, so I Remembered some things I've tryed for practice my listenning, and I'd like to suggest to you.

Feel the words
Something very useful I like to do is memorize lyrics of musics and, when hearing them, think in the meaning of each word. So when you mean the same thing as the song says, you will automatically remember the lyrics and know what to say.

Pronounce
Speaking of music, I've noticed interesting things in some musics few months ago, but only remembered now. If my "magic" works, the videos will open in the parts I've mentioned.

First one is a song from Lily Allen, "Alfie". There are two parts where she doesn't pronounce the "t":
..."all you do is stay and play on your [compu'er](computer) games"...
and, shortly after:
"...[li'o](little) brother please refrain from doing that..."
Maybe it's her accent, she's from London. Ah, I hope the girls don't mind about what happens on the video in this part of the music, he he.

I found this other one curious: There's a part of the lyrics of P.O.D.'s "Youth of the Nation" that, I guess, could be written in two ways:
"...but who knew that this day [wasn't like] the rest..."
or
"...but who knew that this day [was unlike] the rest..."!
The two ways sound equal one to other, and both has the same meaning! Well, Sonny sings quite fast in this part, but I think that listenning again and again you will see(oops, I mean listen)!

Do it yourself
Speaking of repeating until you understand, sometimes I receive by e-mail(or search for) some funny videos in english, so I write down all the words I can understand from them(for some of them, it's necessary to listen again and again and again...). I was thinking about suggest doing this in the blog, but it's too easy to cheat, he he.

So, just for you to practice(and relax too), here are two of them(I gues you must have saw them already, but they worth to be watched again)!
First an easy one: Trolling Saruman;

In this second one, "the coon" talk's quite fast, but I guess you'll like the music, huauhahua: Justin Bieber In South Park.

"Hasta la vista, baby!"(Terminator - Terminator 2)

Expressions

"Konichiwa"!!!

I was trying to answer my own question(if the word "shooted" exists, do you remember my anecdote?) through "Gurugle"(Google, but it's a "guru" to me) and, on the list it returned, I noticed a link to a blogg about english expressions. I found it interesting and started to look for other ones(I know there's a lot of good ones, so I didn't make a deep research).

Well, the first one was Inglês Pra Quê. As you may have imagined, this one contains explanations in portuguese. I'm sending the link to the explanation of "shoot" as an expression(usually, it's a verb).

Another good one is Using English, that has explanations in english, and has a index in alphabetical order. This link leads to the part of idioms and proverbs.

I've found this list too, that contains, e.g., mistakes that native speakers usually do, like this one, and english proverbs too.

Well, I better stop now, I guess this text is getting giant! My friends on Orkut always complain about it, he he. Sorry about the parenthesis too, I always use them a lot to put some comments, as if two of me were talking. They complain about it too, they think it makes the text hard to understand (in english it must be even worst).

"Arrivederci"!!!

sprained ankle

Hi guys, what´s up?

When I tried to raise up I burn my hand on the ground and my foot and my hands were hurt. My feet was black and blue. It was so sad.

Well, after all, when I back to school the elevator was out of order. I shoud climb the stairs, can you believe it? Climb the stair, walking till bus station, ride the bus, all things I should do when I was injured was hard and painful. I couldn´t stay at home for long time because I had to go to college and work. I can say to everybody, be injured it is the worst thing and It was a bad time in my life.

The Game

Hiii Friends...

I watched a football game this year that exciting me so much...
It was the first time that I went to a football field...

Although this was an important game, is was tranquil, because just had in camp Cruzeiro´s rooters.

In the first time, nobody scored a goal... everybody was getting nervous and anxious...
Whem Cruzeiro scored the first goal, in the second time, al the people getting crazy... jumping, shouting, singing, dancing... hugging each other... and doing a lot of things...
I got so scare that I prayed for none goal...

The game finishing in 2x0... and I survive...
I like a lot... and would like to go watching other game again...

Thanks... =)

A good deed

Last semester, when I was walking near the parking lot of the Exact Science Institute of UFMG, I found a wallet. I stayed near it for some time, wandering about what to do, so I decided to take it and try to give back to the owner.
When I opened it, it was full of credit cards, personal documents and about R$500,00. As I found inside the wallet a card with the telephone number of the girl who had lost it, I phoned her and told her that I had found her wallet. We arranged to meet and I gave back the wallet to her. She was very grateful and impressed, because all her things still were inside the wallet. She thanked me and gave me R$100,00 as a reward.

That's my story, see ya!

Cheat in "Detective"

Sometime ago, I went to "Soho", a Pub wich you can play many games. We were 5 people and I didn´t play more games, because I was tired. So, my girlfriend said: Let´s play Detective. I hate this game, but I accept. We began and the game was slow. Then, I resolved to accelerate the game: when the people marked the informations in yours papers, I saw where they were marking in the paper, counted the spaces in my paper and marked the same thing.
I win the game in the third round and was so easy, but don´t talk to anybody.

That is my story.

See you later.

Ready answers – cheating the test

Hello people!

I'm going to tell about a cheat in a test. Once time, when I was attending the sixth grade , during the class, my teacher was doing revision for the test which happens next week. I had sat near the teacher's desk and for a moment she left the room, I saw a sheet with some questions answered on the table and copied it. (I decided to copy without to know it was that she would give evidence next week). Do not tell anybody. On test day I realized they were the same questions I had copyed. result: I was the only student to hit all the questions and the teacher still gave me congratulations. That’s my cheat!

See you!

Cheating The Exam!

Meeting an idol

Hello everybody!

My anecdote is about a day that I met my idol. His name is Lil Kang, he's a fighter, you should know him. He came to Brazil to visit his biggest friend Blanka(from Street Fighter) and in a typical day I saw him near the office that I work. He was wearing a green t-shirt and a red pant. Yes, he likes colours. :D I told to him that I am a huge fan and I hope him win the battle with Shang Tsung. After our conversation we took a picture together and he went away. It was awesome. :D

That's my story. I hope you like! See you guys.

Not so funny, but...

Hi everybody!

Well, I'm afraid I don't have any story of sports that fits the model suggested on the book. I could remember only one funny fact: I was watching some friends play football(or soccer) at school. I don't remember if it was a school championship or just a physical education class, because only in this two situations we would have so many people cheering.

Time was running out, nobody had scored yet, and people in the stands were shouting whenever one team reaches the opponent's penalty area.
Then, suddenly, a player received the ball next to the goal, turned around and [shooted](does this word exists?).

The net shook and some of the player teammates had weird different reactions, while some people in the stands were celebrating. After a few seconds everybody ceased, understanding what had happened: the player missed the ball and his shoe came off, hitting the net!

Well, I have to confess something: I invented this story, I really don't remember any funny fact about sports(well, not right now), guess I'm getting too old, he he. Hey Cléber, will you consider this a cheat?

See ya!

Cheating The Exam (too)!

Hello guys!

I have always been a good student and never cheated in my exams (it was because I felt afraid of fail, lolol). When I was 11 years old, my Geography's teacher gave us a test. It was like: she would say a country or city's name and, in a blank world map, we should write it in the correct place. It seemed impossible to me: my photografic memory was really terrible! I have tryed to consult a map with the words, but how was expected... she discovered it and gave me a zero on the test...

Cambridge Dictionaty of American English

Hey guys, this weekend I went to Bienal do Livro and I bought this dictionary, I don't know if it's the better, the one, but is helping me to study and it have a part of idioms which the other I had doesn't have. What I had was Silveira Bueno Mini Dictionary an English-Portuguese, very simple, but I'm not going to dismiss it.
I hope you like my post (:

Cheating The Exam

Hey Guys, what’s up?

In this post I’m going to tell my anecdote when I cheated my History exam, so let’s go:
In Centro Educacional Mineiro –CEM-, in my seventh grade. I cheated because my friend needed my help in a question, and then, I helped she. The worst in this story is: my dad saw me cheating in the window of the class, and at this time, I looked at the window and he were my dad saying: “daughter, don’t do this.” with a sad face.
I pretend didn't see my dad and continue doing the exam. At home, I asked my mom why my dad were in the school that day in the morning, and she says he went there to pay the monthly payment, so he went to my class to see me, and, saw me doing wrong things.

Welcome!

Hello folks!

As you can see I have finally found my way into conceiving this space, which is, of course, far from finished.
